The IEP - Teaching and Research Institute has adopted the Virtual Learning Environment (AVA), which has been introduced as a support tool for the teaching/learning process, supplementing the educational activities. The AVA can currently only be used by Postgraduate students, but channels will soon be opened for professionals and members of the community who are looking for information on health issues.
The environment's resources
The virtual environment offers a forum, videoconferencing facilities, a chat room, email, news and a library. There is also a set of resources available for supporting participants' activities, including, a notice board, agenda and diary. Instructors have a number of tools for evaluating performance, such as questionnaires and activity statistics.
It can be used in courses, symposiums and events organized by the IEP - Teaching and Research Institute, work meetings and also as a support when carrying out collaborative projects.
