The Social Pediatry Clinic carries out actions in the health area, focused on socially vulnerable children, whose families have a family income of up to five minimum salaries, in the region of Bela Vista, a centrally located district in the city of São Paulo where the Hospital Sírio-Libanês is to be found.
Set up in 1998, it provides free treatment to 4,700 children in the region, with the same excellence as the services provided to the other patients treated at the Hospital Sírio-Libanês. The sending of these children for treatment at the Hospital follows predetermined, registered criteria.
To guarantee quality treatment, it has a permanent multi-professional team, made up of pediatricians, physiotherapists, nursing assistants, dentists, social assistants, nurses and psychologists, as well as the collaboration of 60 doctors from the Hospital Sírio-Libanês.
The service also has partnerships with speech therapists, who carry out hearing tests; specialized orthodontics centers, responsible for fitting mouth braces; and opticians, who guarantee the distribution of free spectacles.
