Oncology Center

The Hospital Sírio-Libanês Oncology Center, created in 1998 is fully abreast of the most advanced developments in new therapies for fighting cancer. It is the Latin American benchmark in this area.
To increase the chances of a cure and a quality life for cancer patients, it provides access to treatment programs using new medicines as well as the possibility of taking part in international research. It occupies four floors of the hospital, covering an area of 3,800 m2.
The Center is staffed by a fixed multi-professional team made up of 70 professionals, including doctors, nurses, pharmacists, nutritionists, psychologists, physicists and physiotherapists, led by the executive director Dr. Paulo Hoff. Its computerized structure guarantees greater control of all the stages of the illness: from its diagnosis to the choice of the best form of treatment, passing through the support necessary for the patient's well being.
Along with conventional chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment, the Oncology Center provides access to treatment programs using new drugs, which enable patients to take part in Brazilian and international research programs. The Hospital has a partnership with the famous Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, in New York. Professionals from the two hospitals can make conference calls to discuss the best therapeutic methods in more complex cases, as well as use the Second Opinion program.
