Nursing
Nursing assistance in the Oncology Center is consolidated in the individual and humane care given to the patient and their family members. With specialist professionals undergoing continuous professional training, the team guarantees a safe and peaceful time during the stay in hospital.
Pharmacy
The work of the pharmacy in the Oncology Center provides the best therapeutic results for patients undergoing treatment for cancer. All the cytotoxic drugs used at the Hospital Sírio-Libanês are centrally prepared here, and undergo rigorous quality control procedures. For this reason, it is staffed by pharmacists that are specialized in oncology, these are professionals who are constantly researching and looking to discover the possible medical interactions of the drugs used in each patient.
Nutrition
Each patient undergoes individual treatment to minimize the side-effects of radio and chemotherapy treatments, based on a nutritional evaluation. It is essential to maintain a healthy diet not only for improving the quality of life, but also for obtaining positive results from the treatment being applied.
Dentistry
Dentists, who have specialized in diagnosing and treating all types of mouth sores that may appear during radio and chemotherapy treatment, are also part of the Oncology Center team of professionals.
Psychology
Patients, companions and family members have psychological support available. The aim of this service in to enable people to adapt to the new situation that has been brought about by the illness and by the corresponding treatment, in the best possible way. This support can be sought during the different stages of the treatment process and respects the circumstances and needs of each patient and their family members.
Esthetics Support Room
The support for the cancer patient also includes other special services. The Esthetics Support Room is an area that has been set aside and equipped with items capable of softening the challenges of the treatment. It is the result of the efforts and dedication of the Hospital Sírio-Libanês volunteers.
This is why the Esthetics Support Room, situated on the first floor of the Hospital, has a showroom, containing prostheses, compression garments, lingerie, swim suits, oral hygiene products and skin products - specially developed by a doctor on the clinical staff -, amongst other items.
