The Hospital Sírio-Libanês has a specialized team for carrying out endoscopy examinations of the upper digestive tract, whilst adopting strict safety procedures, since the equipment used for endoscopy examinations is free of all contamination. A rigorous disinfection procedure is used which involves washing the equipment with special soaps and immersing it in suitable chemicals. These procedures prevent the risk of diseases such as Aids and Hepatitis from being transmitted.

For all examinations, the patients are given a strong anesthetic, and then sent to waiting rooms to recover.

The diagnosis, delivered within a maximum of 24 hours, is presented using photographic and X-ray documentation, with copies for the patient and the doctor.
